These guidelines have been created to help provide members with protection and transparency during transactions. They DO NOT guarantee a successful transaction, but following them will definitely help increase your odds SIGNIFICANTLY. That said, always use caution and never do a deal if you don’t feel right about it. If you have any questions at all, please reach out to your Community Leader.

IMPORTANT: Any issues during any deal should be brought to your Community Leader immediately. Please provide evidence (screenshots, etc) and our team will evaluate the situation.

Before You Start...

ADD A PHOTO AND YOUR ACTUAL NAME TO YOUR PROFILE: We highly encourage everyone to add a photo and at least your first name (full name is even better) to your Slack profile. This helps build trust and creates accountability amongst members. Using the default Slack profile graphic and only having a username in your profile (with no real name showing) suggests you’re trying to hide something and makes it less likely for people to want to deal with you.

Assisting

An assist is when you purchase a sneaker on behalf of another member or when a member helps you out on release day by attempting to make a purchase on your behalf.

Assisting other members on releases is a great way to help the community and create a reputation as a solid member that others can count on. On the flip side, asking for assists can help your odds on releases that you really want. Either way, follow these guidelines to help make sure things go as smoothly as possible:

When Posting...

HOW TO POST: Your posts in #assists should look like this…

DO NOT OFFER TO ADD CASH OR GIFTS IN EXCHANGE FOR ASSISTS. Wanting to reward someone for helping you out is a nice gesture, but offering it in exchange for helping you out goes against the spirit of community that we want to foster. That said, any post that offers these sorts of incentives will be removed.

When Accepting...

IF YOU ACCEPT AN ASSIST: You are REQUIRED to purchase any pairs that other members purchase on your behalf, even if you also hit on a pair too and no longer need the other pairs. Why? Because it’s the right thing to do when someone goes out of their way to help you out. If you cannot commit to reimbursing multiple pairs from assists, please don’t ask for them. Failure to follow this rule will be considered conduct detrimental to the community, and will result in your membership being reviewed for a possible ban from future transactions or termination of your account. Please think carefully before asking for an assist.

PLEASE ACCEPT OR TURN DOWN EACH ASSIST OFFER: Reply to your post in #assists saying which assist offers you’ve accepted and which ones you don’t need. This is for your protection. If you don’t reply, it will be assumed that you are accepting all assist offers.

IF YOU AND THE MEMBER ASSISTING YOU BOTH HIT ON A RELEASE: The assisting member has the right to keep their assist if they’d like. You should not be asking for assists just so you can double up on a release.

When Assisting...

IF YOU ASSIST SOMEONE: Confirm BEFORE the drop that the other member still needs your assist, and what size they need an assist with. This helps avoid confusion and any possible issues. Also, if you successfully cop for the other member follow these steps:

  • DM the member to let them know ASAP

  • Update the member with any shipping updates you get from the store

  • Wait until the shoes are in hand to accept payment (to avoid having to give refunds if the shoes get lost in transit or if the order is cancelled)

  • Once the shoes are in hand, please follow the guidelines for Buying and Selling above

IF SOMEONE YOU ASSISTED FAILS TO FOLLOW THROUGH: Please screenshot the conversation and hit up the group DM with the SoleSavy team so we can take the appropriate action. We can’t help unless you tell us about the issue.
